TYPES OF GUITARS
- Classical Guitars
Classical guitar playing is one of the most difficult styles of playing to mastor, because is involes a great deal of learned technique and the knowledge of music theory. The classical guitar has nylon strings and a wider neck than other types of guitars.
- Acoustic steel-stringed Guitars
Acoustic steel-stringed guitars differ from classical in that the strings are obviously steel, rather than nylon, the neck is thiner, and you play it diferently than you would a classical. Learing how to play a steel-stringed guitar is alot easier than a classical guitar. It involes strumming chords and you can also pick if you want to, but the steel-stringed gives you alot more range to develop your own style. This guitar aslo generates its own sound without the use of eletricity.
- Electric Guitars
Electric guitars are played with the most freedom and can be used in many different ways. Improvisation is a really common way the electric guitar is used and for disstortion purposes. The electric guitar uses electricity to generate its sound so it can be hooked up to distortion pedals and such to give it the sound you want. Learning how to play the electric guitar depends on what you want to do with it. If you plan on being a lead guitarist and play a bunch of licks you will have to learn many scales and learn how to use them within a key. playing the electric guitar is definitely really fun but at the same time challenging.
